The '6 House Pub

The '6 House Pub is another of our favorite places. Again, Beef Boy traditionally gets a burger when we go, but not me. I usually get one of their gourmet salads. Their salad selection is excellent and the rest of their menu is filled with pastas, sandwiches, and simple and sophisticated appetizers. We have never had a bad meal and it is one of the places we go to most often.

We ordered the burger called "The Guernsey" and is listed under the section of their menu titled "'Six' House Bovine Burger Bazaar". You can get a 5 oz. version for $6.46, but we went for the 8 oz. version at $7.96. The Guernsey is described as their "basic no frills burger". All burgers are served with lettuce, tomato, red onion, pickle, and pepperoncini. "Choose pub fries, signature coleslaw, or vegetable." You can substitute sweet potato fries for .96. The cheeses available to top your burger are: American, Cheddar, Feta, Chevre (Goat Cheese),
Gorgonzola, Pepper Jack, Provolone, Swiss.

The burger arrived as you see it above. The sourdough roll was huge and lightly toasted, the leaf of green lettuce was crisp, the tomato was very thinly sliced, and the red onion was sliced thicker than the tomato. Note that no pepperoncini arrived on the plate as advertised. No big deal to me, but I wanted to point it out. Onto the main event.

The burger was large in circumference and a nicely seared, pressed burger and fit the roll perfectly in quite an impressive way. Upon biting into it, I realized that it arrived medium well with no pink. It was moist rather than juicy. If I had ordered it medium well I would of been pleased, but that was not the case.

The star of the show actually ended up being the pub fries. They were to die for and completely overwhelmed the burger experience. They were skin on seasoned fries that we could not get enough of. Truly, one of the best fries I have EVER had. WOW!

Taking our criteria into account and it arriving medium well, it receives a rating of 3 burgers. We are happy to report it is a Coca-Cola establishment.
